Push/Push Contact Systems

The push/push contact principle is based on the same principle as the mobile/fixed contact system, with the difference that two pressed-together contacts are used. This contact system is often employed in pivoted electrical couplings or as a first-to-make last-to-break contact system in sliding and stationary electrical couplings.

Here as well, there are contacts with retaining blade elements and strand wire.

When mobile/fixed contact systems are used together with push/push contact systems, the push/push contact systems create a contact faster. This can result in the early balance of the earth (ground) potential. For this reason, this contact principle is also called a first-to-make last-to-break contact principle.

The maximum rated current (amperage), depending on model, is up to 400 A.
